Dr. Fred D. Coffman, DDS
With a degree in Genetics at the University of California in Davis, Dr. Coffman’s academic interests in all aspects of dentistry has taken him to several institutions across the nation for dental course work. During his university years, in addition to undergraduate and graduate course work at UC Davis, Dr. Coffman was involved in research that focused on the use of interferon as a cancer treatment.
Dr. Coffman was tempted to pursue a career in research but chose to continue with his lifelong interest in dentistry. Although he was accepted at Columbia University in New York City and at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia to pursue dental studies, Dr. Coffman opted to enroll at the University of California in San Francisco, where he received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Sciences and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1980. Upon graduation, Dr. Coffman traveled to New Jersey and worked in a clinic whose thrust was to ensure that needy families are taken care of.
Dr. Coffman’s state and regional Board passage allowed him to obtain licensure to practice dentistry in California, New York, New Jersey, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Delaware and Massachusetts. He has been practicing general dentistry in Roseville since 1984. A member of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation and the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Coffman continues to be active in various dental organizations. He was a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and an associate member of the American Association of Endodontists.
Dr. Coffman’s passion and interest in dentistry are reflected in his completion of dozens of postdoctoral dental courses. Some of the leading clinicians who he considers as his mentors include several of America’s renowned dentistry experts—Dr. Bill Dorfman of television’s Extreme Makeover and Discuss Dental; Dr. Gordon Christensen of Clinical Research Associates; Dr. William Dickerson of the Las Vegas Institute; Dr. David Hornbrook of PacLive; Dr. Raymond Bertolotti; Dr. Frank Spear; Dr. Ross Nash; Dr. Howard Farran; Dr. Rick Kushner; Dr. Earl Estep; Dr. Woody Oaks, Dr. Travis McFee; Dr. Patrick Wahl; and Dr. Carl Misch.
Our staff members at Rock Rose Dental are aptly called Patient Care Specialists. This is in line with our commitment in ensuring total comfort and care for our patients. Despite a multitude of duties, tasks and responsibilities that our staff members perform daily, our dental office is running and operating as efficiently and smoothly as possible. We continue to maintain our focus on the absolute comfort and care of our patients.
The duties and responsibilities of our leading staff members at Rock Rose Dental—Lori and Sabrina—are briefly described below. Although each of them has primary areas of responsibilities, both have been extensively trained to handle other tasks beyond the scope of their basic responsibilities. They continue to ensure that our clinic can efficiently adapt to a changing environment. Lori and Sabrina are the keys to keeping our office functioning and operating smoothly so that we can maintain our unswerving commitment to the total comfort and optimum care for our patients.
Lori
With 13 years of experience and expertise at Rock Rose Dental, Lori is more than just the clinic’s office manager. As the Chief Dental Office Expert, Lori not only spends much of her time keeping our patients totally comfortable and relaxed, but also performs various tasks to ensure our office's clinical operations are functioning smoothly and efficiently. Don’t be surprised if you see Lori taking dental x–rays of patients. With her warmth and aura, Lori has endeared herself to many of our patients, as she can easily connect with them on a personal level and make them feel welcomed, understood and valued.
Sabrina
In addition to business office tasks, Sabrina has developed the necessary skills to run the clinical side of our office like a well–oiled machine. Her attention to detail ensures that our business office and treatment room operations integrate smoothly and efficiently. Sabrina has been with Dr. Coffman for over seven years now. She personifies the ultimate multi-tasker: she could be at the front desk dealing with all those dental-related concerns of our patients, answering insurance questions and ordering oral care supplies. She also knows how to take dental x–rays and frequently assists Dr. Coffman when he performs oral care treatments on patients. Sabrina’s professionalism and positive personality are reflected on the satisfied smiles of our patients.
